The sleeve creates a perfectly sized, stable housing cavity that allows the round rubber RS seal to expand into a high pressure mechanical fit, no gaps, no guesswork. When paired with the correct entry seal, the completed assembly achieves certification for A-class fire protection, gas tightness under catastrophic pressure, and resistance to water ingress. That level of protection matters most where the stakes are highest: aboard marine vessels, on offshore oil and gas platforms, inside cleanrooms, and throughout heavy industrial processing plants.
